Photocatalytic Decomposition of Nitrobenzene in Aqueous Solution by Ag/Cu2O Assisted with Persulfate under Visible Light Irradiation

نویسندگان

چکیده

The mineralization of nitrobenzene was executed using an innovative method, wherein Ag/Cu2O semiconductors stimulated by visible light irradiation were supported with persulfate anions. Batch-wise experiments performed for the evaluation effects silver metal contents impregnated, concentrations and dosages on removal efficiency. physicochemical properties fresh reacted illustrated X-ray diffraction analyses, FE-SEM images, EDS Mapping UV–Vis diffuse reflectance spectra, transient photocurrent analyses photoelectron respectively. Because intense scavenging caused benzene, 1-propanol methanol individually, predominant oxidant considered to be sulfate radicals, originated from anions via photocatalysis Ag/Cu2O. As regards oxidation pathways, initially transformed into hydroxycyclohexadienyl followed production 2-nitrophenol, 3-nitrophenol or 4-nitrophenol. Afterwards, phenol compounds descended denitration nitrophenols converted hydroquinone p-benzoquinone.

Photocatalytic degradation of methylene blue by 2 wt.% Fe doped TiO2 nanopowder under visible light irradiation

In this paper, 2wt.% Fe doped TiO2 nanopowder was prepared by a combination of sol-gel and mechanical alloying methods. The mechanical alloying of Fe powder with Ti(OH)4 gel produced from the sol-gel method was used to produce Fe doped TiO2 nanopowder. The synthesized samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM) and diffuse reflectan...

Photocatalytic Activity with Visible Light Irradiation

Titanium dioxide (TiO2) was doped with the combination of several metal ions including platinum (Pt), chromium (Cr), vanadium (V), and nickel (Ni). The doped TiO2 materials were synthesized by standard sol-gel methods with the doping levels of 0.1 to 0.5 atom-%. The resulting materials were characterized by the X-ray diffraction (XRD), BET surface-area measurement, Scanning Electron Microscopy ...

Photocatalytic Removal of Acid Blue 113 Dye from Aqueous Solutions Using Zinc Oxide-Kaolin Nanocomposite under Visible Light Irradiation

Background and purpose: Textile industries produce huge amounts of colored wastewater. Synthetic dyes cause serious problems to human health and aquatic organisms due to their toxic and carcinogenic properties. In this study, Acid Blue 113 (AB113), which is stable and persistent against conventional treatment methods was selected as the target contaminant. Materials and methods: The synthesis ...

Adsorption-assisted photocatalytic activity of nitrogen and sulfur codoped TiO2 under visible light irradiation.

Applying post thermal treatment on the doped TiO2 at high temperature is mostly regarded as an indispensable process, although it has negative effects on the photocatalytic activity of doped TiO2. Herein, we synthesized the N- and S-codoped TiO2 (NSTs) with an anatase phase using a simple solvothermal treatment and investigated their visible light photocatalytic activity associated with the the...
